Major Incident Medical Management and Support

MIMMS presents the nature and management of a major incident, focusing on how to deliver the medical support needed to multiple casualties.

Prepare for the worst, and hope for the best. Major Incidents are described as being in three phases: PreparationResponse, and Recovery.

We are all always in the preparation phase, which includes planning, equipping, and training. Whether you are a commander or a responder, the Major Incident Medical Management and Support (MIMMS) course is a superb way of understanding how healthcare shapes its response to a major incident.

Governed by the world-renowned Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) this course covers what major incidents are, the principles of working during them and some key tools such as communication forms and triage.

If you potentially might be a commander at an incident, you are now required to undertake CPD, and the MIMMS course is the ideal way of undertaking some formal education to add to your portfolio. This will support you in complying with the National Occupational Standards Framework.
