Immediate Life Support

The Resuscitation Council UK’s Immediate Life Support (ILS) course equips both healthcare and non-healthcare professionals with vital knowledge and skills essential for effectively treating adults experiencing cardiac arrest

Participants learn to swiftly recognise deteriorating patients and initiate appropriate interventions following the ABCDE approach (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Exposure). The course emphasises the critical steps of the chain of survival: early recognition, early CPR, early defibrillation, and post-resuscitation care.

By focusing on these key elements, participants gain the confidence and competence needed to significantly improve patient outcomes. Hospitals are mandated to deliver high-quality resuscitation services, underscoring the importance of this training in safeguarding lives.
